Find of the Month: September

This month I bought a pair of fantastic heels! I'm 5'9'' and have been called “Giant” by my sister for as long as I can remember, so I guess I’ve never had the desire to be even taller. I stuck to the basic 1.5-inch heel for homecoming and prom, occasionally just wearing some flats. Then, I found some fantastic heels screaming, “BUY ME!!” Meanwhile my mom was telling me “YOU WILL FALL!” I chose to follow my intuition and buy them. Get this… they are L.A.M.B and were on clearance for 29.00 at Marshalls.

I asked myself..."Will I wear them?" Uh...I'll try to.. I might end up crawling but after some practice I think I can get it down. And let's be real, I could crawl and still look and feel fabulous. I knew this was a bargain I couldn't pass up. Check them ouuuut!

Can you walk in four inch heals?

Penny-Pinching Past

Since I was little my mom(the Coupon Queen) has taught me to save money and live frugally. Of course moms are always right...but back then I still thought I knew it all. So, I was convinced that money grew on trees and I should be entitled to whatever I wanted no matter what the price tag read.

Of course I quickly realized that that wasn't true. But, it wasn't until recently when I went off to college and became more financially independent that I really understood the importance of everything my mother had always told me.

This blog is my attempt at sharing tips on how to save, where to find steals and deals, and of course a space where I can gloat at a fantastic find.

Bargain Basics

To start off I have two basic guidelines for bargain shopping:
1. Love the hunt
2. Only buy gold

First, love the hunt. Bargain shopping is always a hunt. It's like sifting through cubic zirconium in search for the real diamond. I'll be honest bargain hunting takes patience and time. So don't expect to get a good deal when you're on a strict time constraint.

Secondly, only buy gold. This is a simple rule that I still have trouble with today. By this, I simply mean you cannot go into a store, find something you like, jump up and down when you see a clearance tag and buy it. You must first ask yourself, "Am I going to really use/wear this?" and "Will I find a better deal somewhere else/at a different time?"

And now you're on your way to huge savings!
